A new support space for women has launched in Ryde, offering a calm and welcoming environment for those aged 18 and over across the Isle of Wight.

The initiative, called Women Only, has been developed by Rodger & Steve’s Place, a community organisation already known for its support work with men. Now, founder Karl Hart says the team is ready to expand its reach to women who may need the same judgement-free support.

Located at 133 High Street, Ryde, the space offers drop-in sessions three times a week with no need for appointments or referrals. Visitors can talk, relax, join in creative activities, or simply sit quietly with a hot drink. Children are welcome too.

Opening hours are:

  • Monday: 9am – 12pm

  • Wednesday: 12pm – 4pm

  • Friday: 4pm – 8pm

The project launches on Monday 14th July as a pilot, with future sessions shaped by feedback from those who attend.
