Neurodivergent adults on the Isle of Wight are set to benefit from expanded support services following the launch of new Autism and ADHD Community Hubs across Hampshire and the Isle of Wight.
The hubs form part of a new Information, Advice and Guidance service designed to support autistic and ADHD adults aged 18 and over, including those who do not have a formal diagnosis.
The service is being delivered by Autism Hampshire in partnership with several organisations, including AIM Isle of Wight, helping to ensure support is available to Island residents alongside communities across the wider region.
People accessing the service can receive one-to-one peer support, take part in support groups and wellbeing workshops, attend drop-in sessions and community events, and access information, advice and personalised support plans.
A key feature of the service is that support is provided by people with lived experience of autism and ADHD, creating an environment built on understanding, shared experience and practical knowledge.
The new hubs are part of a wider programme commissioned by the Hampshire and Isle of Wight Integrated Care Board, with organisers saying the aim is to provide accessible, strengths-based support that helps neurodivergent adults feel understood, valued and empowered.
Following a series of launch events across the region, the service is now fully operational and accepting referrals and self-referrals.
Support is available via telephone, email, online and face-to-face appointments, with the Information, Advice and Guidance helpline operating Monday to Friday between 9am and 5pm.
Autism Hampshire says it hopes the service will make a meaningful difference to the lives of neurodivergent adults across the Isle of Wight and Hampshire, while strengthening links between local communities and support networks.
