Ryde Town Council are delighted to announce a brand new partnership with Department in order to provide much-needed public toilet facilities in the heart of the town.
Department have offered to open their toilets to the public and Ryde Town Council will provide the daily cleaning services.
The toilets will initially be open Tuesday to Saturday 9am to 6pm which will extend to 6 days a week in High Season (Tuesday to Sunday).
Access to the toilets is via the Department’s side entrance which can be reached through the Coop car park or via the alleyway in Cross Street.
There are accessible toilets on both the ground floor and on the first floor next to the café.
Ryde Town Council’s Clerk, Lisa Dyer, says:
“Huge thanks really must go to Department. This partnership is a wonderful example of collaborative working and we were excited when the team at Department first mentioned the idea.
"Thanks to them Ryde will have fully accessible toilets and they will be serviced by our cleaning team. It really is a win, win - especially for the town centre.”
Department’s Sharon George, says:
"Shademakers are delighted to work with Ryde Town Council to open our toilets to the public as part of our commitment to being a safe, welcoming space for the whole community in the heart of the High Street.
"Whether you're popping in to use one of our loos, taking part in one of our workshops, seeing a show, visiting the exhibition, checking out our shop or going to the café.
"Department is a space for everyone!"
