New Board Of Directors Elected For Visit Isle Of Wight

The results are in for the latest election to the Board of Directors at Visit Isle of Wight — the Island’s destination marketing organisation.
More than 1,200 Wight BID levy-paying businesses were invited to nominate and vote for candidates to join the board, with voting taking place between 20 and 31 October.
A total of 24 candidates stood for election, with 208 businesses submitting votes.
In total, 1,463 validated votes were cast, and the results were independently verified by Tourism South East.
The 12 candidates receiving the highest number of votes are being put forward for formal confirmation at the Visit Isle of Wight General Meeting on 14 November.
The 12 elected Directors are:
Lawrence Bates – Wildheart Animal Sanctuary
Laura Baxter – The Orchards Holiday Park
Matthew Brooks – The Royal Hotel
Derek Curtis – Amazon World
Claire Davies – Parkdean Resorts
Edward Day – Monkey Madness
David Holmes – Garlic Festival Ltd
Marc Morgan-Huws – Isle of Wight Steam Railway
Lee Priddle – Robin Hill Partnership Ltd
Nick Spyker – Sandringham Hotel
Steven Wells – Luccombe Hall Hotel
Dominic Wray – Blackgang Chine
Will Myles, Managing Director of Visit Isle of Wight, thanked everyone who took part in the process:
“I thank everyone who stood for election, those who cast their votes, and congratulate the 12 people who have gained the majority of votes.
“I’m looking forward to confirming the new Board of Directors at our General Members Meeting on 14 November so we can continue promoting our wonderful Island in what remains a challenging climate for tourism nationally and globally.”
Tourism South East confirmed the election results as accurate following a full review of voting data.
