Mums will be able to travel for free on the Red Jet this Mother’s Day as part of a special offer from Red Funnel.

On Sunday, 15 March, mothers can get free foot passenger travel between Southampton and West Cowes when travelling with a paying child – regardless of the child’s age.

The ferry operator says the initiative is designed to help families spend more time together on Mother’s Day.

A return trip on the Hi-Speed Red Jet takes less than an hour, allowing families to make the most of a day out on the Isle of Wight. Dogs are also welcome on board the service.

Red Funnel’s CEO Fran Collins said Mother’s Day is about spending time together rather than spending money.

She said offering free travel again this year is a small way to help families focus on what matters most and enjoy a special day together on the Island.

The offer applies whether you are celebrating with your mum, step-mum or another motherly figure, with adult children also eligible to take part.

To claim the offer, travellers need to buy a full-price ticket for the child at the Terminal 2 Red Jet ticket desk and ask for the “Mums Go Free” promotion to receive a complimentary foot passenger day return for mum.

If the child travelling is under five, another adult ticket can count towards the offer.

More details and full terms and conditions are available on the Red Funnel website.
