A motorcyclist has been taken to hospital after suffering a serious leg injury in a collision in Ryde yesterday afternoon (Monday).
Police were called to Salisbury Road just before 1pm following reports of a crash involving a car and a motorcycle.
The rider, a man in his 30s, was thrown from his bike and into the road during the incident.
The circumstances leading up to the collision are currently unclear.
An ambulance attended the scene and the rider was taken to St Mary's Hospital for treatment.
Hampshire & Isle of Wight Constabulary has confirmed the man sustained a serious leg injury.
Salisbury Road was closed between High Park Road and Marlborough Road while emergency services dealt with the incident.

I hope the motorcyclist makes a full recovery. Incidents like this are a reminder of how vulnerable riders can be, even on familiar roads. It’s good to hear that emergency services responded quickly and that the injured rider received medical attention. As someone who enjoys activities that require focus and quick reactions—including Slope Rider, a downhill obstacle game where timing and awareness are essential—I’m always reminded of how important caution and attentiveness are in real-world situations.
