The first event in a new monthly series celebrating inspiring women on the Isle of Wight took place on Wednesday night at the Island Sailing Club in Cowes.
Over 70 women attended to hear the stories and experiences of three remarkable island figures: High Sheriff Jacqueline Gazzard, UKSA CEO Catherine Dixon, and author and Professor of Architecture Lorraine Farrelly.
The series was created by broadcaster Cheryl Buggy, who said:
“I wanted to set up a series of podcasts and live events to share the positive and inspirational stories of the many amazing women who live or work on the island.
"The fact that so many women came to the first event and gave such positive feedback shows that such an initiative is welcome and needed, which is great!”
High Sheriff Jacqueline Gazzard added:
“Sometimes you don’t know how much you need an initiative until you are enjoying it.
"We have so many amazing women on this island and it was an absolute joy being in their company. Thank you, Cheryl.”
The Island Women podcasts are free and released weekly. More information can be found on social media at:
