Mindset Bros — an Isle of Wight based mental health support group for men — has shared a message of support following the announcement that the Men Only IOW safe space will be closing.
The news was described as “genuinely sad” by the Mindset Bros team, who confirmed that their founder, Ross Taylor, met with Men Only IOW founder Karl Hart to offer support, respect and solidarity during what is understood to be a very difficult time.
Men Only IOW has played a significant role in supporting men on the Island, and Karl Hart’s commitment, care and dedication to those he has helped has been widely recognised.
Karl Hart has asked Mindset Bros to help share a public message to ensure that no man feels abandoned or alone as Men Only IOW comes to an end.
In their statement, Mindset Bros said that any men who have been attending Men Only IOW, or who were considering reaching out for support, should know that help is still available.
Mindset Bros run regular walk-and-talk sessions, group meet-ups and community-led events, aimed at creating safe, non-judgemental spaces for men to talk, listen and connect.
The group says there is no pressure or expectation, just an understanding that sometimes turning up is the hardest step.
They added that men who found Men Only IOW to be a safe space are welcome to attend Mindset Bros sessions, whether just once or on a regular basis.
The group stressed that this is not about replacing Men Only IOW, but about ensuring that no one is left without support.
Mindset Bros also thanked Karl Hart personally for trusting them with the message and for the work he has carried out for men on the Isle of Wight, adding that community support is strongest when organisations stand together.
Anyone who feels they need connection, conversation or shared support is encouraged to reach out, attend an event or contact Mindset Bros directly.
The message ends with a clear reminder: men matter, mental health matters, and no one has to face things alone.
