Matt Hennessy has been crowned the winner of the Road to Victorious competition, earning the opportunity to tour some of the UK’s biggest music festivals this summer.
The announcement was made on Friday night (6th March) at The Wedgewood Rooms, where four finalists performed to a packed crowd.
A panel of industry experts helped decide the winner alongside audience support.
The competition is run by Victorious Festival and offers one emerging artist from the Portsmouth postcode area the chance to gain major live performance experience across the festival circuit.
As part of the prize, Matt will perform at Truck Festival, Tramlines Festival, Kendal Calling and Y Not Festival, before a grand finale performance at Victorious Festival later this summer.
He will also tour with a professional crew and be supported by a documentary filmmaker and photography team throughout the summer.
Recognising the challenges faced by emerging artists, the prize also includes free rehearsal and recording time at Casemates Studios, one-to-one industry mentoring, a professional band photoshoot and further development opportunities across the year.
