Man Arrested Following Report Of Sexual Communication With Child In East Cowes

A man has been arrested following a report of sexual communication with a child in East Cowes.
Police say they were contacted at around 12:15 on Monday (16 March) after concerns were raised about a man allegedly engaging in inappropriate communication with a young person.
A 23-year-old man from Cowes was subsequently arrested on suspicion of being an adult in a position of trust inciting sexual activity with a child.
He was also arrested on suspicion of assault occasioning actual bodily harm in relation to a separate allegation.
As part of the investigation, officers carried out a search of an address linked to the suspect, where electronic devices were seized.
The man has since been released on bail with conditions until Tuesday 16 June while enquiries continue.
Hampshire & Isle of Wight Constabulary has confirmed that investigations remain ongoing.
