Man Arrested After Reports Of Erratic Driving In Cowes

A man has been arrested on suspicion of drug driving, harassment and possessing cannabis after reports of erratic driving in Cowes.

Police were called at 1.06pm yesterday (Wednesday) after concerns were raised for the welfare of a man who had reportedly been driving erratically in the town.

A short time later, officers found a stationary vehicle on the dual carriageway in Newport.

Following enquiries at the scene and their interaction with the driver, a 41-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of harassment, possession of cannabis and drug driving.

The man was taken to hospital before later being transferred to police custody, where he remains while officers continue their investigation.
