Man Arrested After Car Flips Onto Roof In Late-Night Sandown Crash

A man has been arrested after a dramatic late-night collision in Sandown left a car overturned on a residential road.

Emergency services were called to Perowne Way at around 21:45 on Tuesday evening following reports that a moving vehicle had collided with a parked car.

It’s understood a Ford Fiesta struck a stationary Nissan Juke, with the force of the impact causing the Fiesta to spin before rolling onto its roof.

Police attended the scene and arrested a 44-year-old man from Bognor Regis on suspicion of failing to provide a specimen for analysis.

He has since been released under investigation while enquiries continue.

The road was temporarily affected as emergency crews dealt with the incident and ensured the area was made safe.
