Man Arrested After Assault Leaves Victim With Ear Injury In Sandown

A 23-year-old man has been arrested following an alleged assault in Sandown that left another man with an ear injury.

Police were called to a property on Fort Street at around 18:10 on Thursday following reports of two men fighting. The incident is understood to have taken place at Sandham House.

Officers attended the scene and found that one of the men had sustained injuries to his ear.

Following enquiries, a 23-year-old man from Sandown was arrested nearby on Avenue Road on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm, using abusive or insulting words or behaviour likely to cause harassment, alarm or distress, and assaulting an emergency worker.

He remains in police custody while investigations continue.

Hampshire & Isle of Wight Constabulary has not released any further details about the circumstances
