Man Airlifted After Serious Beach Fall

A man has been airlifted to the mainland after suffering serious injuries in a fall at Bembridge.

Emergency services were called to the beach shortly before 10.20pm on Wednesday after reports a man had been seriously injured.

It is understood he was climbing a pole on top of a groyne when it snapped, causing him to fall around 20 feet onto concrete below.
