A group of residents in Lake have joined forces with the local Men in Sheds charity to establish a new volunteer-led initiative aimed at improving the appearance of the parish.

The newly formed Lake Tidy Team has been created with support from Lake Parish Council, which has provided funding for high-visibility jackets and assistance with community projects.

Led by local resident Elaine Hayes, volunteers have already carried out clean-up operations at the Lake War Memorial and along the cliff path at Battery Gardens.

Further projects are now being planned across the parish.

Speaking about the initiative, Elaine said:

"It was heartening to see so many parishioners come along to our first informal meeting at Gathering Place.
"With the help of the Parish Council, there is a real groundswell of goodwill to improve the public spaces within the parish."

Chairman of Lake Parish Council, Paul Brading, praised the efforts of the volunteers.

"We are extremely grateful for the work already undertaken by members of the Lake Tidy Team, and the Parish Council looks forward to supporting the group's future plans and projects," he said.

The team hopes to encourage more residents to get involved as it continues its work to enhance and maintain community spaces across Lake.

Experience the thrill of performing endless wheelies on open roads. Players in wheelie life must carefully manage their bike's position and speed. One wrong move can end a promising run. The game encourages continuous improvement. Skilled riders can achieve impressive distances.
