Preparations are underway for May’s local elections on the Isle of Wight, with key dates now confirmed and polling arrangements beginning to take shape.
Polling stations across the Island are currently being booked, while plans are also being put in place to recruit and deploy staff to run them on polling day.
The elections will take place on Thursday, May 7, five years after Islanders last voted in Isle of Wight Council elections in May 2021.
That election saw the previous Conservative administration lose its majority, with the Alliance group taking control of County Hall.
A council spokesperson confirmed that administrative preparations are well underway.
They said the council is in the process of booking polling stations for each electoral division and arranging staffing and other logistical requirements.
Residents who vote by post are also being reminded that, due to a change in the law, anyone who originally applied for a postal vote before January 2024 must reapply by the end of this month.
