An Isle of Wight singer-songwriter has released her latest single, exploring the emotions and insecurity that can come with betrayal.
Ruby — the stage name of Islander Ruby Bodenham — has unveiled her new track Kasey, which is available to stream.
Written and produced by Ruby herself, the song explores the moment when blame is misdirected after being cheated on — turning anger towards someone you don’t even know, rather than the person who caused the hurt.
Speaking about the release, Ruby said:
“To have a song I wrote at such a low point in my life turn into something so beautiful is the most incredible feeling in the world.
"Having others share the love for my song and the anticipation I've built with this release is what makes music worth it.“
"Kasey is the confusion, the unresolvable torment, the utter hatred for someone who doesn't know you exist, all wrapped up in a sweet, harmony-infused acoustic guitar ballad.”
Joining Ruby on the track are Craig Eggerton-Read on guitar and Jon Thorne on bass — both tutors at Platform One.

Alongside releasing new music, Ruby has also been nominated at this year’s Portsmouth Music Awards, where she is in the running for Pop Act of the Year.
Winners are decided by public vote.
Ruby is also set to perform at Recfest in Fareham this May — the same day she will play a concert in support of Wessex Cancer Support.
