Isle Of Wight Shortlisted For Europe’s Most Desirable Island Award

The Isle of Wight has been shortlisted as one of Europe’s most desirable island destinations in the 2026 Wanderlust Reader Travel Awards.

The Island is competing in the ‘Most Desirable Island in Europe’ category, alongside destinations including Corsica, Crete, Madeira, Mallorca, Sicily, Tenerife and the Isle of Skye.

The Wanderlust Reader Travel Awards are now in their 25th year and are among the UK’s biggest travel awards, with more than 200,000 people expected to vote.

Visit Isle of Wight is encouraging residents, visitors and anyone who loves the Island to cast their vote and help showcase the destination internationally.

Dominic Wray, Chief Executive of Visit Isle of Wight, said the nomination was a “fantastic achievement” and reflected the Island’s coastline, landscapes, communities, experiences and heritage.

He added:

“These awards are decided entirely by the public, so every vote really does count.

“Whether you live here, have visited before or simply love the Isle of Wight, we’d be hugely grateful if you could take a moment to vote and help us showcase our wonderful Island on the international stage.”

Voting is open until 27 October, with winners announced at the Wanderlust Reader Travel Awards ceremony on 4 November during WTM London.
