Historic Spanish Galleon Replica Arrives In Cowes

A replica of a historic Spanish galleon has arrived in Cowes as part of a tour of the UK and Ireland.

The 55-metre-long Galeón Andalucía is moored at Trinity Landing and will be open to the public from Thursday (24 September) until 4 October.

The ship is a replica of the Spanish galleons which sailed between Spain, the Americas and Asia for around three centuries.

Visitors will be able to explore its six decks and learn more about life aboard the vessels, which played a major role in Spain's maritime history.

The Galeón Andalucía has seven sails covering almost 1,000 square metres and was built from iroko and pine wood by the Fundación Nao Victoria in Andalusia.

The vessel has travelled hundreds of thousands of nautical miles and visited ports including London, Liverpool, Shanghai, Singapore, Hong Kong, Manila, New York and Quebec.

It is now being used to promote Andalusia as a tourist destination and is visiting several locations in France, the UK and Ireland during its 2026 European tour.

The ship will be open daily from 10am to 8pm during its stay in Cowes.

Tickets bought online cost £12 for adults, £6 for children aged five to 10, or £30 for a family ticket covering two adults and up to three children.

Tickets bought at the ship cost £15 for adults, £7 for children aged five to 10, or £37 for a family ticket.

Children under five can visit for free but must be accompanied by an adult.

Organisers say online tickets are being prioritised and could sell out before the ship opens to visitors.
