Multiple temporary road closures, parking restrictions and width limits are being introduced across the Isle of Wight throughout April and May for utility works, carriageway maintenance, repairs and investigations.

Key closures include:

  • Bellevue Road, Ventnor: Closed 14–15 April

  • West Street, Ryde: Closed 13–17 April

  • Newport Road, Niton: Closed 7–17 April

  • Bettesworth Road, Ryde: Closed 7–10 April

A number of roads across the Island will also face short-term closures (typically 1–15 days) between 10 April and 22 May, including routes in Shanklin, Sandown, Ventnor, Newport and Ryde.

Additional night and short-duration closures are planned between 7 April and 17 April in multiple locations including Newport, Sandown, Brighstone, Calbourne and Godshill.

Jellicoe Road, Binstead will be subject to a 6’6” width restriction and parking restrictions during works, with similar parking controls in nearby roads including Broadway Crescent, Mayfield Road and Ringwood Road.

Further rolling closures and restrictions may take place between April and July as part of a wider maintenance programme.

Exact timings and diversion routes will be clearly signposted, with advance notice given to residents.

All works are weather-dependent and may change.
