Isle Of Wight Pharmacies To Extend Evening Opening Hours

Two Isle of Wight pharmacies will stay open until 8.30pm on designated weekdays from Monday, October 19, to improve access to healthcare.
Boots in Sandown will offer extended hours on Mondays and Tuesdays, while Day Lewis in Newport will cover Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays.
The changes follow the Isle of Wight Pharmaceutical Needs Assessment, which identifies local demand for pharmacy services.
NHS Hampshire and Isle of Wight says the later opening times will give Islanders greater flexibility to access advice and treatment.
Both pharmacies offer NHS Pharmacy First, which allows pharmacists to assess and, where clinically appropriate, treat eligible patients for seven common conditions without the need for a GP appointment first.
These include sinusitis, sore throat, earache, infected insect bites, impetigo, shingles and uncomplicated urinary tract infections in eligible women.
Day Lewis also offers 24-hour prescription collection kiosks at its Newport, Cowes, Shanklin and Wootton Bridge locations.
Patients need to speak to the pharmacy team to sign up for the service.
