Isle of Wight musician ugly Ozo has been announced as the debut signing for new record label REX RECS.

The singer, whose moniker the stage name of multi-instrumentalist Jess Baker, is the first act to join forces with Macks Faulkron on his new project.

Macks is a record producer who has worked with Grammy and Mercury Prize nominated acts including Caroline Polachek.

REX Studio, Macks’ space near Islington, London, will host recordings by ugly ozo on future releases.

Over the last twelve months, the talented songstress has performed around the country supporting acts including Lauran Hibberd, Wych Elm and Tramhaus.

Remains, the debut single by ugly ozo, was released last year.

Joining Jess at live performances are Boo Baker on bass, Tristan Northard on drums and George Elliott on guitar.

Speaking about joining the new record label, Jess said:

“Signing to REX RECs is a huge new chapter for ugly ozo and I’m so excited for what’s to come!“I think it’s about to be chaotic!”

Earlier this month, ugly ozo performed at the second edition of Wanderlust Festival, which took place in Southampton.

Coming up this summer, ugly ozo will perform at Ceremony Festival in Bedford, on a lineup with Chloe Slater and Picture Parlour.
