The Island’s much loved Isle of Wight Donkey Sanctuary has launched an exciting new fundraising initiative: Isle of Wight Donkey Sanctuary Lotto.
The weekly lottery offers players a fun way to contribute to the vital work of the charity.
For just £1 per ticket, players enter a weekly draw for a chance to win a jackpot of £25,000, with 60% of the ticket price going to the sanctuary.
Proceeds from the lotto will be used to help fund care for over 100 resident donkeys, ponies and mule, many of whom are elderly or require ongoing medical treatment and care.
Recent new arrivals at the sanctuary, Fred and Roo needed £4,000 of medical care including a stay at Liphook Equine Hospital before they could be taken to the sanctuary itself.
Stephen Tobitt, General Manager of the Isle of Wight Donkey Sanctuary said:
“We are deeply grateful for the generosity of our supporters who enable us to continue to provide a safe and loving home for rescued donkeys.
"In 2024 our medical costs exceeded £100,000 and with all our costs continuously rising, we’d love for people to get involved with the new lottery.
"Every ticket sold is a win for our donkeys and it might well be a win for you!”
As part of the launch, anyone who enters Isle of Wight Donkey Sanctuary Lotto by 28 June 2025 will be automatically entered into a Super Draw for a chance to win a prize package of a stay at award-winning Luccombe Hall Hotel, Shanklin, a £250 voucher for ferry travel with Wightlink and a VIP donkey day at the sanctuary.
