An extraordinary meeting of the Isle of Wight Council has been scheduled to discuss the next steps in the government’s devolution plans.

The Full Council session will take place at County Hall, Newport, on Wednesday 1 October 2025 at 7pm, arranged to meet a deadline set by the Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government.

Devolution — and the priority programme awarded to the Island earlier this year — will be the sole focus of the meeting.

Residents are welcome to attend in person, or watch the proceedings live via the council’s website.

More details about devolution and what it could mean for the Isle of Wight can be found on the council’s dedicated webpage.
