Emergency Services Respond To Lorry And Car Crash On Brading Downs Road

Emergency services are at the scene of a serious road traffic collision on Brading Downs Road this afternoon (Thursday).

The crash, involving a lorry and a car, happened on a bend near the junction with Mersley Down Road and Ashey Road.

Several resources have been sent to the scene.

The Isle of Wight Ambulance Service has deployed multiple ambulances, an operational commander and a critical care paramedic.

Hampshire & Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service has mobilised crews from Ryde and Newport, along with the Rescue Support Vehicle from Newport.

Brading Downs Road is currently closed in both directions between Bulley’s Hill in Brading and Ashey Road.

Drivers who would normally divert via New Road in Brading are now being advised to travel via St Helens and Bembridge until further notice.
