A number of veterinary practices on the Isle of Wight are being renamed to better reflect the communities they serve.

Pet Doctors in Lake, Ryde and Newport, along with Medina Vets in Wootton, are all adopting new names linked to their locations.

Following feedback from staff and clients, the practices will now be known as Lake Veterinary Centre, Newport Veterinary Hospital, Ryde Veterinary Centre and Wootton Veterinary Centre.

The move is designed to highlight their connection to the towns they are based in, while also showing they are part of a wider Island-wide group.

New signage is also being introduced, which will include the “CVS Vets” branding. Pet Doctors joined the CVS group in 2011, with Medina Vets following in 2017.

The updated branding aims to show that while the practices remain locally focused, they are supported by a national network of veterinary specialists.

Despite the changes, the same teams of vets and nurses will continue to provide care for pets across the Isle of Wight.

The practices say they remain committed to offering high-quality treatment, clear advice and a wide range of services, from routine appointments to more specialist care.

Clinical Director Jayne Merryweather-Lewis says the practices have been part of the local community for decades, and the new names better reflect the areas they serve.

She added that being part of CVS Vets helps support staff in delivering consistent, trusted care for pet owners across the Island.
