Island's Fire Crews Tackle Outbuilding Fire In Cowes

Fire crews from across the Isle of Wight have successfully tackled a large fire in Cowes.

Multiple appliances were sent to Stephenson's Road yesterday afternoon (Sunday), after flames broke out in an outbuilding, before reportedly spreading to sheds and other structures.

Residents close to the scene were advised to keep windows and doors closed as smoke billowed into the air - visible from as far away as Newport.

Police and fire crews worked into the evening yesterday as investigations into the cause of the blaze continued. No injuries have been reported.
