Island Hospice Donations To Be Doubled For One Week This Christmas

Islanders are being urged to support Mountbatten Isle of Wight this Christmas, with donations set to be doubled for one week only.

From midday on 2 December until midday on 9 December 2025, every contribution made to the charity through the Big Give Christmas Challenge will be matched pound for pound, up to a total of £35,000.

Mountbatten — the Island’s only provider of hospice care — says the campaign could help more people spend their final Christmas at home or in the hospice, supported by round-the-clock specialist care.

Patron Alan Titchmarsh encouraged Islanders to get involved, saying the Big Give offers “a chance to make your gift go twice as far”.

Donations made during the week will be matched by the Reed Foundation and ten Island businesses, including Capital Jewellers, Island Mobility and A.J Wells & Sons.
