Community groups and charities on the Isle of Wight are being encouraged to take part in a special event designed to open doors to new funding opportunities.
Meet the Funders will take place at Newport’s Riverside Centre on Wednesday 8 October, bringing together local and national organisations that provide grants and support to community projects.
Organised by the Isle of Wight Council’s Family and Community Team in partnership with Community Action Isle of Wight, the event is aimed at both new grassroots groups and well-established charities.
Teresa Brimble-Brennan, Supporting Families project officer, said:
“This is a brilliant opportunity for organisations to meet the people who can help bring their ideas to life.
"Whether you’re seeking seed funding for a new initiative or looking to expand an existing project, this event is all about making meaningful connections.”
The day will feature presentations from key funders including the Isle of Wight Council, the Isle of Wight Foundation (Island Roads), Hampshire and Isle of Wight Community Foundation, the Arts Council, the National Lottery, and Past Futures Heritage Grants.
Alongside the presentations, there will be:
Networking opportunities over refreshments and lunch
One-to-one sessions with funding representatives (pre-booking required)
Three practical workshops on bid writing, business resilience, and collaborative working
The free event runs from 9.30am until 4.30pm.
Lunch is available for £5, payable on the day.
Spaces are limited and must be booked in advance, with registration closing on Wednesday 1 October.
