The Isle of Wight Council has congratulated students across the Island on their A-level, technical, vocational and apprenticeship results.

While the full picture of results will be available later this year when national data is released, councillors say they’re proud of the hard work and dedication shown by young people.

Cllr Paul Brading, Chair of the Children’s Services, Education & Skills Committee, praised students for their commitment, and thanked teachers, tutors, and training providers for their role in helping them succeed.

Naomi Carter, Service Director for Education Access and Inclusion, reminded students that results day can bring mixed emotions.

She encouraged anyone unsure of their next steps to use the council’s Island Futures careers service, which offers free, independent advice on university, apprenticeships, training, or employment.

Island Futures can be contacted on 823888 or by emailing island.futures@iow.gov.uk.

Careers resources are also available at www.iow.gov.uk/islandfutures.

For young people feeling anxious or stressed, further help is available from www.youngminds.org.uk, which includes advice on dealing with exam results.
