Island Businesses Shine At Beautiful South Tourism Awards

Island businesses have scooped a series of accolades at this year’s Beautiful South Awards, held on Tuesday at The Grand in Brighton.
Shanklin led the celebrations, with Luccombe Manor winning Gold for Dog Friendly Accommodation of the Year, while Luccombe Hall took Bronze for Small Hotel of the Year.
Directors Steve Wells and Clare Farrelly said the achievements reflected the team’s commitment to delivering “first-class experiences” for guests.
East Afton Farmhouse in Freshwater claimed Silver for Wedding Venue of the Year, with the team celebrating recognition for the care and detail that goes into hosting special occasions.
For the fourth year running, The Royal Hotel in Ventnor placed in the top three, receiving Bronze for Restaurant of the Year.
Owner Mohamed Bathich praised the dedication of the hotel’s kitchen and service teams.
Wildheart Animal Sanctuary also celebrated success, taking Bronze for Regenerative Tourism and being Highly Commended in Café of the Year.
CEO Lawrence Bates said the award reflected the sanctuary’s focus on sustainability.
Visit Isle of Wight’s Managing Director, Will Myles, congratulated all island finalists, saying they “go above and beyond” to offer exceptional experiences and fly the flag for the Island’s tourism industry.

Dog Friendly Business of the Year: Gold – Luccombe Manor, Shanklin
Wedding Venue of the Year: Silver – East Afton Farmhouse, Freshwater
Small Hotel of the Year: Bronze – Luccombe Hall Hotel, Shanklin
Regenerative Tourism: Bronze – Wildheart Animal Sanctuary, Sandown
Restaurant of the Year: Bronze – The Royal Hotel, Ventnor
Café/Tearoom of the Year: Commended – The Wildheart Café, Sandown
