The Isle of Wight’s UNESCO Biosphere Festival is returning for its biggest year yet, with more than 100 free or low-cost events taking place across the Island from Saturday 27th June to Sunday 5th July.
Recently named among The Guardian’s top 10 UK nature festivals, the nine-day event celebrates the Island’s unique landscape, wildlife, heritage and communities. Most events are free or low-cost, although many require booking due to limited spaces.
Organisers say this year’s programme is the largest so far, featuring walks, talks, workshops, films, arts, crafts and family activities across the Island.
The festival opens with FOCAS Fest at the Wildheart Animal Sanctuary and includes events from organisations including Hampshire and Isle of Wight Wildlife Trust, Isle of Wight National Landscape, Quay Arts and Brading Roman Villa.
Festival Producer Martha Henson said:
"We have been blown away by the island’s response to our call for Biosphere Festival events, what an incredible and diverse selection of brilliant things to do."
