Island author Jo Cooper has released her latest novel, All About Peggy — a story that builds on the success of her award-winning book There Will Be Blue Skies and revisits characters from her A Red Sky trilogy about child evacuees on the Isle of Wight.
Set in the early years of the Second World War, the novel brings to life the story of nurse Peggy, inspired by the real experiences of Cooper’s parents.
The book explores the personal struggles of the era, weaving fictional storytelling with the realities of wartime Britain.
Fiona Newnham-Brothers B.E.M. praised the new release, saying:
“Enticed into Nurse Peggy's world during WW2, you will be kept on your toes, interleaving with real-life events and the horrors of war.
"Set on the Isle of Wight, with sweetheart Brian, the couple experience many dangers.”
Jo Cooper will be holding several book-signing events in the run-up to Christmas:
Thursday 20 November – Bembridge Village Hall Craft Fair
Saturday 23 & Sunday 24 November – Calbourne Water Mill Christmas Fair
Saturday 29 November – Sandown Lifeboat Christmas Fair at the Broadway Centre
Sunday 30 November – Medina Sports Hall, Isle Dream of a Wight Christmas Fair
