Koffie Time — Hungry Bear’s Sunday Roast Is Back!

The popular Hungry Bear Sunday Roast has returned to the Isle of Wight and is now being served every Sunday at Koffie on Niton High Street.

Hungry Bear has built a loyal following for its traditional cooking, quality ingredients, generous portions and family-style hospitality.

Founder and chef Stuart “The Bear” Downes said:

“We’ve been overwhelmed by how many people have asked us to bring the Hungry Bear roast back.

"Sunday lunch should be about good, honest food, generous portions and spending time around the table with the people who matter most.

“Niton has always been a special place for our family, so it feels great to begin this new chapter here.

"I’m excited to be back in the kitchen and serving the roasts that people have been missing.”

Hungry Bear began at local events before opening its first permanent home at the Old Lavender Farm in 2017.

It later operated from Fakenham Farm and the Rectory Mansion in Brading, with its Sunday roasts becoming a firm Island favourite.

Sunday roasts are also available to collect, either hot and ready to eat or prepared as a “heat-at-home” meal. The business also plans to redevelop its roast delivery service.

A new Hungry Bear website has also launched, allowing customers to view the menu and book tables online.

Roasts are served every Sunday from 12.30pm at Koffie, Commerce House, High Street, Niton.

Booking is strongly recommended.

Customers can bring their own alcoholic drinks, with glassware provided and no corkage charge. Dietary requirements can also be catered for if requested in advance.
