Five Hovertravel employees are preparing to abseil 100 metres down Portsmouth's Spinnaker Tower to raise money for Mountbatten Isle of Wight.

Pilot Gee, engineer Brendan, HR Manager Poppy, and Terminal Supervisors Terri and James will take on the challenge on Sunday, September 6, supporting the charity's hospice, end-of-life and bereavement services.

The fundraiser continues Hovertravel's long-standing support for Mountbatten, which has included backing events such as Walk the Wight.

The team is encouraging customers, colleagues and members of the public to sponsor the challenge, with all proceeds helping fund Mountbatten's specialist care across the Island.

Hovertravel says the abseil reflects the team's commitment to supporting the local community.

Participants will descend one of the South Coast's best-known landmarks, with views across Portsmouth Harbour, the Solent and the Isle of Wight.

Donations can be made through the team's JustGiving page.
