Hay Spill Causes Delays On Downs Road Near Downend

Motorists are being advised to take care when travelling along The Downs Road near Downend after a tractor spilled hay onto the road.

The incident, near the former Hare and Hounds pub, has caused some disruption this lunchtime (Monday), with part of the carriageway temporarily affected by the fallen load.

The road remains open, but drivers are being asked to expect delays while the hay is cleared and the area is made safe.

Other local farmers have rallied together to help remove the obstruction, working to clear the route as quickly as possible.

Drivers heading through the area are advised to slow down, approach with caution and allow extra time for their journeys until the clean-up operation is complete.
