Voluntary and community organisations on the Isle of Wight are being invited to apply for grant funding of up to ÂŁ25,000 to support adult learning projects.

The Isle of Wight Council's Adult Community Learning Service has launched its 2026/27 grant funding programme and published a new prospectus outlining how organisations can bid for funding.

Applications are open to organisations that will use the funding to widen access to adult education and learning opportunities across the Island.

The Adult Community Learning Service aims to engage adults in learning, particularly those who have benefited least from the formal education system.

The council says successful projects should help deliver a range of outcomes, including supporting disadvantaged people who are less likely to take part in learning, improving skills that can lead to further education, training or employment, and helping people gain qualifications.

Funding can also be used to provide family learning courses and workshops that support parents and carers in helping their children's education, while also building resilience within families.

Another key aim of the programme is to strengthen communities by promoting volunteering, equality of opportunity, community development and involvement in local decision-making.

Organisations interested in applying can request an application pack by contacting the Adult Community Learning Service via email at acl@iow.gov.uk or by calling 817280.

The council is encouraging applicants to discuss their ideas with the service before submitting a bid.

Completed applications must be submitted by 3pm on Friday 26th June.
