Green Isle of Wight CIC has been awarded £18,000 of funding from the Department for Work and Pensions’ Household Support Fund, managed for the Island by the Isle of Wight Council, to help Island households stay warm and reduce their energy bills.

From now, until the end of March 2026, there will be free Energy Essentials Packs available and the team will be carrying out free home energy visits for households who are struggling with the cost of living.

Each pack will include simple but effective items including a heated throw, energy-saving LED bulbs, insulation tape and radiator reflectors – all designed to make homes warmer and cheaper to run.

The home visits will give residents tailored advice, practical support, and links to further help such as Citizens Advice, Fairer Warmth, and energy-saving grant schemes.

The project is open to households across the Isle of Wight who are in financial difficulties or looking to reduce their energy costs.

Lisa Beaney, Managing Director of Green Isle of Wight, said:

“We know how tough things are for many people on the Island right now. This funding means we can give practical, hands-on help to those who need it most – helping people stay warm, save money, and feel supported this winter.”

The Household Support Fund has been granted to Local Authorities across England to assist their local residents with essentials related to food, utilities, and wider essentials. The Isle of Wight Council is working with Town, Parish and Community Councils, charities and community groups like Green Isle of Wight to make sure the money reaches those who need it most.
