Businesses across the Isle of Wight are being encouraged to sign up to a free crime prevention scheme, with funding extended to allow more firms to take part.

UK Partners Against Crime (UKPAC) has confirmed its offer of a free 12-month membership has now been extended until November 2026, thanks to additional support from Police and Crime Commissioner Donna Jones.

The scheme gives businesses access to a secure reporting platform and dedicated Crime Hub, allowing them to log incidents, share intelligence and receive real-time alerts on criminal activity.

It is aimed at tackling issues such as shoplifting, theft and antisocial behaviour, while improving communication between businesses, police and community safety partners.

The Commissioner has stressed the importance of reporting incidents, saying action can only be taken if crimes are logged, and highlighting retail crime as a key policing priority.

Figures show the platform has already contributed to more than 130 convictions, while also saving significant police time by streamlining the reporting process.

UKPAC says intelligence shared through the system has helped secure lengthy prison sentences for repeat offenders, including one case involving dozens of shoplifting offences.

The initiative is open to businesses of all sizes and sectors, including retail and hospitality, with sign-ups available online.
