A former animal nursing facility at the Garlic Farm on the Isle of Wight may be converted into a recreational room and studio for yoga, workouts and crafts.
Mr Boswell has submitted a prior notification application for a change of use of an agricultural building at Mersley Farm, known as The Sow Shed, to a flexible commercial use.
The Garlic Farm describes itself as a working family business growing garlic with a small herd of cattle, horses and chickens in surrounding fields.
A statement from Mr Boswell’s agent, LMA Heritage Consultancy, said:
“The Garlic Farm is an established agricultural business that has operated from Mersley Farm since 2001.
“Its principal activity is garlic cultivation, alongside associated livestock husbandry.
“The Sow Shed supported the livestock operation and remained in active agricultural use until 2023, when that use ceased.
“The building has since been used for farm storage.”
Located within the Isle of Wight National Landscape, the site off Mersley Lane has a shop selling garlic products and a range of Island artisanal products, an award-winning restaurant, six self-catering holiday cottages and five luxury yurts.
There is also a tennis court, football pitch and games room for guest use.
