Sandown Residents Evacuated As Floodwaters Surround Riverview Court

Residents at Riverview Court in Sandown were evacuated on Monday afternoon after floodwater surrounded the park home estate.

Firefighters from Ryde and Newport attended the scene on Avenue Road, using water rescue equipment to help residents leave their mobile homes safely.

Police were also on site earlier in the day.

Water levels remained high throughout the afternoon, and electricians were called in to isolate the power supply after floodwater affected the estate’s electrical cables.

Riverview Court is home to around 45 dwellings.
