A small Isle of Wight business has made a big difference, raising thousands of pounds for local hospice care through the sale of Christmas candles.
Island wellness brand All Well & Good has donated £4,800 to Mountbatten Isle of Wight after its festive “Yuletide” candle proved a hit in the run-up to Christmas.
The candles were sold at events and in shops across the Island during November and December, with at least £10 from every sale going directly to the hospice.
Handmade in small batches, the candles blended orange and mandarin with cinnamon, cloves and winter spices – creating what the brand describes as a comforting, festive scent.
Co-founders Leighton Atchison-Warne and Neil Clark said the support from the public had been overwhelming.
“A huge thank you to everyone who supported us and, in doing so, helped raise much-needed funds for Mountbatten,” they said.
“Over the past year in particular, we’ve become more aware than ever of the incredible work they do and the care they give to families when it matters most.
“To be able to give something back in this way feels like a real privilege, and we’re deeply grateful to everyone who helped make it possible.”
The pair say they plan to continue working with Mountbatten on new projects throughout 2026.
Head of Fundraising at Mountbatten, Helen O’Brien, welcomed the donation.
“Partnerships like this are hugely valuable to Mountbatten Isle of Wight and to the people we care for,” she said.
“They play a vital role in helping the Island’s only hospice raise the funds it needs so our expert staff can continue delivering compassionate end-of-life care.”
Businesses interested in supporting Mountbatten through fundraising or volunteering are encouraged to get in touch.
