The 25th Isle of Wight Masters Open Swim Meet takes place this Saturday (7 February) at Medina Pools, attracting over 60 swimmers from across the Home Counties and Germany.
Island swimmer Zac Lacey, GB Downs Team Captain, will compete alongside his teammates, while clubs including Bracknell & Wokingham SC, last year’s winners of the Heights Trophy, aim for top honours.
Swimmers are grouped by age, from 18–24 and in five-year bands up to 100+, making for competitive races across all levels.
The event starts at 1.45pm, and entry for spectators is free.
Meet referee Bob Cooper said:
“It’s encouraging to see swimmers of all ages racing each other.
"This event highlights the health benefits of swimming and is always well supported by mainland clubs, many of whom stay on the Island for the weekend.”
