'Excellent Role Model' Sam Wenman Scoops Bus Operator’s Top Award

Southern Vectis engineering technician Sam Wenman is celebrating this week — after being named employee of the year by the Isle of Wight bus operator.

He also received first place overall amongst all of the firm’s sister companies across the south coast and Wiltshire.

Demonstrating an exceptional work ethic and strong sense of responsibility, Sam was singled out for his clear commitment to supporting colleagues and maintaining high operational standards.

“Through dedication, adaptability, and a strong team focussed ethos, Sam exemplifies the values of Southern Vectis, and serves as an excellent role model for other team members,” said Southern Vectis managing director, Ed Wills.

“Sam has made it his business to ensure any operational issues are fully resolved before completing his shift - no matter what time of the day or night.

"It is so important that our vehicles are maintained to the highest possible standards to keep people moving across the island.

“Sam’s actions have contributed significantly to our smooth and efficient operations here.

"This award is richly deserved, and I’d like to wish Sam a successful year ahead."

In recognition of his efforts, Sam received £6,000 worth of vouchers, two extra weeks of annual leave and a framed certificate.
