Emergency services were called to a late-night incident in Sandown after a car left a car park and ended up in a nearby field.

The incident happened at Yaverland Car Park, where a white Ford Fiesta is believed to have driven over a small embankment into an area used for overflow parking.

Fire crews, police and ambulance teams all attended the scene, including two fire engines, police units and an ambulance crew with an operational commander.

A female was assisted from the vehicle and taken onto a stretcher for further assessment.

Her injuries are not believed to be serious.

One other occupant, thought to have been in the front passenger seat, was also assessed at the scene.

Despite the large emergency response, many resources were not ultimately required and were stood down as the situation was brought under control.
