The iconic Friday night fireworks are set to return to Cowes Week as organisers prepare for the sailing event’s historic 200th anniversary celebrations next year.

Cowes Week has announced a new three-year title partnership with sailmaker North Sails ahead of the 2026 regatta, which will take place from 1st to 7th August.

More than 500 boats have already entered next year’s bicentenary event, marking a major milestone for what is regarded as the world’s oldest and largest annual sailing regatta of its kind.

Organisers say the new partnership will help introduce enhanced on-water technology and improve the experience for competitors, while also bringing new attractions ashore.

Alongside the return of the much-loved fireworks display, plans include new event spaces and activities throughout the week, as well as a dedicated competitors' party.

Cowes Week chairman Robert Trimble said the partnership marks an important moment for the regatta and an opportunity to shape its future as it enters its third century.
