Families are being invited to explore the Isle of Wight’s prehistoric past this May half term as Dinosaur Isle in Sandown launches a week of dinosaur-themed activities.

Running from Monday 25th to Friday 29th May, the programme includes daily talks, fossil handling sessions and guided beach walks designed to bring the Island’s world-famous fossil history to life.

Visitors will be able to take part in Dinosaur Safari sessions led by curator Dr David Button, featuring real fossils and insights into some of the Isle of Wight’s unique dinosaur discoveries.

The week will include themed talks on species including Vectipelta, Eotyrannus and giant sauropods, alongside hands-on activities, microscope sessions and interactive challenges.

Guided fossil walks at Yaverland and Shanklin are also planned, giving visitors the chance to search for fossils and learn more about the Island’s geology.

Daily museum talks and activities are included with admission, while fossil walks must be booked separately.
