Death Of Woman In 70s Confirmed Following Fatal Collision In Shanklin

Police have confirmed the death of a woman following an incident in Shanklin yesterday evening (Monday).

Officers were called at 6.09pm on Monday, 16 June to reports of a collision on Church Road.

The collision involved a bus and a Fiat Panda.

The driver of the Fiat, a woman in her 70s, was seriously injured and despite the best efforts of emergency services, sadly died at the scene.

Inspector Andy Tester, said:

“As part of our investigation we would like to speak to anyone who witnessed the collision or anyone who has relevant dash cam footage capturing the incident or the moments leading up to it.
