Crossbow And Drugs Found During Isle Of Wight Rape Arrest

Police investigating an alleged rape on the Isle of Wight discovered a crossbow and cannabis while arresting a man in East Cowes.

Officers attended the address of a 37-year-old man on Friday evening (15 August) as part of an ongoing investigation into a reported serious sexual assault.

During a search of the property, police recovered a crossbow and a quantity of cannabis. Hampshire & Isle of Wight Constabulary has confirmed that these discoveries are not connected to the rape investigation.

The man was arrested on suspicion of rape, possession of Class B drugs, and possession of a weapon in a private place.

He has since been released on bail until 15 November while enquiries continue.
