Crash Causing Major Delays Between Newport And Cowes

Motorists are facing heavy delays this morning (Monday) after a crash on the main road between Newport and Cowes.
Emergency services rushed to Cowes Road at around 8.30am, following reports of a collision between Stag Lane and the County Showground.
A spokesperson for Hampshire and Isle of Wight Constabulary said:
"We were called at 8.22am to reports of a collision on Cowes Road.
"The collision involved a car and motorcycle.
"One person suffered minor injuries."
Police and paramedics remain at the scene, and the road is partially blocked, causing tailbacks in both directions.
Southern Vectis buses are currently diverting via Forest Road, Whitehouse Road, Rolls Hill and Pallance Lane while the route remains closed.
Drivers are being urged to avoid the area and expect delays throughout the morning.
UPDATE 12pm:
The earlier collision between a car and a motorcycle has now been cleared, and the road is fully reopened.
One person sustained minor injuries in the incident.
Buses have returned to their normal routes.
